The Dubstep Academy is a One day, Once in a life time opportunity, to not only get your hands dirty in every DJ booth at Ministry of Sound, but ALSO the amazing opportunity to meet, be taught by and pick the brains of some of the most influential heads in Dubstep!

A course that delivers the highest standard of tuition, specifically for the Dubstep DJ, Producer and most importantly, the Raver.
This will include:

- A back stage tour of the iconic venue
- Controlling the booth & DJ equipment~
- Professional DJ skills - From FX and tricks, to crowd control and interaction
- The best advice on promoting and making a name for yourself as a Dubstep DJ / Producer
- Expert advice from legendary DJs in the Dubstep scene
- Tuition on all 4 DJ’s booths at the famous London club
- Goody bag with signed CD’s and VIP passes to the club

As well as putting you in the right place at the right time, this is an amazing networking opportunity to meet like minded DJs, producers and promoters!
The day will conclude with a final, huge, back to back mix on the award winning sound system in the main room!

ONLY 9 MORE DAYS TO DUBSTEP ACADEMY...

If the Ministry of Sound DJ Academy was a character from Star Wars, then it would undoubtedly be Anakin Skywalker! To date we have organised and held DJ courses with some of the best DJ tutors and everything has been pretty damn Jazzy. However, we are now in our 3rd year and Anakin is fast becoming Darth Vader as we cross over to the dark side with no remorse!

The new genre-specific DJ Academy is aimed at educating both the inexperienced and experienced in tips and tricks from pro and pioneering Dubstep DJs, as well as also gaining the opportunity to meet and pick the brains of the men that made Dubstep what it is today. Each session provides the opportunity to work with the DJs who are pushing Dubstep onwards and outwards for 2011 across the globe.

Marco del Horno, N-Type, Rodigan and Tek-One were each carefully selected to give the best advice on DJ skills, production, the origins of Dubstep, the Dubstep scene and artist management, having learnt all of this plus the value of self-promotion as an up and coming DJ for themselves!

The course will take place in all four rooms at the Ministry of Sound club with a huge, final, back to back mix in the main room to really shake things up and showcase the skills learnt throughout the day!

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet and network with Dubstep DJs, Promoters and Producers on a very personal level. After all, it’s as much about who you know as what you know!

The Dubstep Academy was held on 10 March 2011. Industry heavyweights N-Type, A1 Bassline and Marco Del Horno all conducted bespoke tuition modules in each of the Ministry rooms.

All participating students got the chance to tackle the DJ booth in the box. Is this a sign of the times, Dubstep playing in the main room? Overwhelming bass lines and reverberant drum patterns echoed through the main room for most of the day with a climax of N-Type ripping it up on the last session.

The passion of the tutors and enthusiasm of the students made the Academy a thoroughly enjoyable (and f**king heavy) day to say the least. The talent showcased by the students was well above par and I’m sure these budding DJs will start making some noise on the scene very soon.
