Chart topping, dance floor rocking, and taste making come naturally to Atlanta based producer, DJ, label executive and promoter Mayhem. With over 15 years in the studio and 10 on the decks, he has garnished the attention of the heavyweights in every genre of his focus. Rooted heavily in Drum & Bass music, and with a discerning ear, 27 year old Mayhem found himself making big moves from an early age. From releasing records for Andy C, TeeBee, Dieselboy, Noisia, and Black Sun Empire to DJing across the world for massive crowds in Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and beyond; he has warranted a reputation for diversity and quality control. Collaborating with and developing artists such as Noisia, Le Castle Vania, Phace, Evol Intent, Sinthetix, Gein and Gridlok amongst many others, his production soared to new heights with "Exodus (featuring the legendary KRS-1)", "Moonway Renegade", and "Choke" with Noisia. Boundless inspiration pushed Mayhem to pursue Dubstep in it's formidable years, immediately signing with the reputable Subway Records, as well as Indie/Electro under the moniker Rrrump. As of late his focus has been brought back to home on the forefront a movement combining southern Rap music with Dubstep collaborating with long time friend DJ MEGANFOXXX of Heroes + Villains. His monthly parties Fuck Yesss, Heavy, Tambor Y Bajo, Atlanta Dubstep and Haute Mess have helped reshape Atlanta's nightlife. No matter the genre, you are guaranteed a diverse set with attention to detail and a healthy respect for dynamics and balance. This is Mayhem.

DJ Hipnotikk - LABWERXDJS.NET // HOODLUMMUSIC.COM

While a lot of DJs have gravitated to the “bass” sound after years of spinning Hip-Hop and the like, DJ Hipnotikk is part of a different breed – he is one of the younger upstarts who grew up immersed in bass culture, and is just naturally aligning his love for the subs with his affinity for Southern Rap. Combine that with his love for creating music, and you’ve got the pulse of the future of this movement in the palm of your hands.

2005 was the year that this young soundboy started combining his loves, and quickly amassed a fat collection of mash-ups and remixes, while still starting out in the ATL music scene. With Atlanta being one of the Mecca’s of Southern Rap over the last decade, as well as having a renowned scene full of dubstep and Drum & Bass crews and events, it’s almost like two freight trains crashing together and creating this selector. Hipnotikk’s been pushing the THUGSTEP sound through his remixes, as well as three acclaimed Dirty South Thugstep mixtapes, which have distinguished him from the growing number of producers and DJs who are latching onto the scene nowadays. He already has the Internet on smash, with a number of his remixes and mixtapes making the rounds on like-minded blogs and websites, but he has no problem dividing his time between smashin’ dubstep nights in varying clubs, and keeping the ravers yearning with his pulsating mixes. He’s one of the few DJs who get mention when speaking on the bass movement in the A, and for good reason.
Recently, he has linked up with DJs Nappy and Cable, both of whom have been making their own strides within this scene, to create the HOODLUM collective. Their mission? Progression of the THUGSTEP movement, by any means necessary. Already released is their refix EP, where each DJ dismantled Diplo & Lil’ Jon’s “U Don’t Like Me” single, which garnered a good amount of praise in the first weekend of its release. Plans to follow this up with mixtapes and tours, among other things, are in the plans, and one can’t help but be excited for what the future holds for Hipnotikk’s growing career.
