thats exactly what im saying. when i see the word dubstep, i know exactly what it could be. but dubs? all this trickery....

Comes from the term dub plate mate. As in a one off pressing of a tune handed to a select few dj's only good for a few plays.
Never have and never will associate the word with anything else. I refer to tunes I recieve digitally from producers without a release as being dubs too nowadays but the true meaning still rings true. How can you not hear the word and think of that?
