progressive metal dubstep?!?!? Djentstep? Sweet!

Post by FaithInTheGlitch » Thu Feb 24, 2011 5:30 pm

OK - now dubstep is in everything. Anyone who likes progressive metal/djent will really be into this. I like seeing some musicality in dubstep, and double bass drum fills are pretty tight. I love this song!

I didn't hate it. The drums were a bit much, but there were some pretty nifty guitar riffs in there.

djent is the new catchphrase for progressive/math metal as far as I can tell. I think it's pretty cool, since I like dubstep, and I like metal. These guys know their way around a guitar, and the drumming is tight. It's cool to see someone with actual musicality try their hand at dubstep.

Sorry you were asking for it :D, I consider myself to be a metal fan as well (well not a huge one but I've listened to it a lot), still don't like it.

Yeah, not bad at all. Not something I'd drop at a rave, but it shows some originality which is pretty rare these days.

haha, not really.

half time metal is not a new thing.

Its just up untill about 4 years ago it was just called metal.

But now everyone wants in on that hot new genre that all the kids are down with, i think britney spears invented it right, dubstep was her band name I think.

I fucking love this. Then again, before dubstep, I listened to metal.

I'm all for mixing genres and getting something new but there's also a point where people need to back off from going to far with it. This song fits the bill. I'd rather it be fully metal or fully dubstep, not somewhere in between. Or perhaps there's a better way of mixing both. So far this song sounds too much of a mess to me.

Edit: Also, what do you mean by "musicality"?
