Right, i'm guessing this a noob stylee question, but hear me out , i have not, ever, asked "how do i make Datsik bass?" so surely i am allowed this?
Anyways, what i would like to know is this, i have got FL Studio 9, and have the lifetime updates. But i have never updated. I guess i am worried that i will fuck up all the tunes i have already saved. Well now that FL have released NewTone, i have to get the update, which is currently 9.9 beta.
Am i being paranoid about updating to a beta version or is it a simple thing to do, and will i be stuck in a never ending cycle of having to update to buggy "updates"?
????
Cheers for reading and i hope someone can help?

A little bit, yeah.
You can have two simultaneous installs, so you can keep your 9.1 or whatever you are on, and try out the beta. Personally I gave up at like .4 or .5, had some problems and decided not to fuck around with the updates. Fucking expiring updates, fuck that. Fucking stupid.
When they had the dealio on newtone, and what not, I snatched it up, but I can't install it... I'm basically waiting for 10 to drop. I don't know when it will be, but I hope soon. A lot of the workflow fixes that have been added, I've literally begged for for years, and they've finally been added.
So bottom line, you can install the update, and keep your current install, but don't get caught with tracks made with an expiring update...

If your unsure hang on until a few people of updated to see if theres any issues. Also back up all your stuff just in case.

I've updated to every beta for version 9 and had no issued.
Just be wary: if you make a tune in 9.9 and the beta expires, you wont be able to open that track in anything before 9.9

Thats actually the most fucking stupid thing i have heard lol, so your new 9.9 projects are on hold until the final version is finally reliesed?

Yeah... A beta is to test and give feedback to the company making the product so it can be as stable as possible when its officially launched not for something to use as your mean piece of kit. Don't switch to the beta and if you do open up a song from an old verison of FL - save as / save new version as you can't revert back.
Like nowaysj - I am waiting for 10 till I update next which will probably be around mid this year.

cheers people for the response. Its what i wanted, plain english speak. I am not that technical and going on the image line forums reminds me a bit to much of science lessons, and that is not good.
It looks like im waiting for 10 as well then!! but that newtone is the dogs. Im using a melodyne demo at at the moment and im then having to break up vocals into edison samples and hope they mix. With newtone you drag and drop straight into a project. Nice.

Hey y'all, I'm a little foggy, did you buy newtone, or is that included. I thought you had to buy it, but pay whatever you want kind of dealio?
