So this has been out for a couple now and I've been giving it some sessions.
Some outstanding moments on this for me
Marcello Napoletano's "Everyday Madness" mixing with the deep African vibes of "Vanghoma"
The effortless mix of "Grab Somebody" into "Void 23 (Carl Craig edit)", both tunes from the man himself.
The wonderful edit of "GR Etiquette" by the Pearson Sound Moniker. The original really is one of the most anticipated tunes that was never released.
Lil Silva's dub version of Fugative's "Bad Girl" was perhaps the party anthem of the entire mix for me.
Another great transition from "Different Lextrix" into "Inna Daze".
Good to see two Dubstep "evergreens" on there. "Qawalli" and "Pirates" remain some of the all time dubstep classics, or at least, of that particular time. The mix of "Qawalli" into "J.DOE Them" is again, sublime.
I think the quality of this CD is immense. Both mixing as well as selection. It covers a wide variety of sounds and it also covers a great timespan. I don't think its the most dance floor friendly mix. I tend to get up and shake a leg three or four times during the mix (Vanghoma, Bad Girl, J.Doe Them, IRL - Subzero - Woooo Riddim section). But does that really matter? Perfect Car material this one.
Recommended and really I think you can place this next to all the Dubstep Allstars when we're talking about truthfully representing the edge of dubstep AND related sounds.
