'New Zealand's Bassweight Recordings presents Okota. A young producer from Norfolk, UK, who came out to New Zealand to travel and was inspired to write these tunes. Okota drops a variety of vibes on his Atawhai EP release; “Justice” kicks off the EP with smooth bass, rushy arpeggios and lush uplifting sweeps. “Need you” drops in the 4/4 techno inspired flavours with a soulful vocal sample - a full spectrum crossover track. “Nonchalant” breathes out the west NZ coast buzz, cool synth lines and a mellow 2-step feel. Bringing it home is “The Dub Controller”, an epic uplifting dub number featuring local Nelson reggae legend Little Jah.
