Going to head to Berlin on holiday this summer, hopefully I'll time it right to check out Sub:stance.
Can anyone recommend other things/places to check out?.
Any good shops for synthesizers? and production equipment?
Any Dubstep and Techno nights people would recommend?
Electronic Museums? or whatever?

Bar 25 is awesome although i dont know if it still goes on. Bascially an all night party outside by the river........pretty mental place! mostly playing techno and the like but worth going to for the vibe alone.

standardly berghain. its probably best to not act like a lairy brit or youll be in the queue for two hours then get rejected.
maria au ostbahnoff, sick little club by the river and ostbahnoff train station. saw ramadanman there, smashed it.
hard wax - pretty dope record store.
prezlabeurg: is a pretty chilled area
tachlas on the friedrichshain, pretty commercial squat with dope artwork all over.
berlins too sick man, i could go on. but im sure youll have a sick time and find some gems.

Bar 25 is gone, but try "Club der Visionäre" its similar, really like it. For music equipment shopping go to "Schneiders Büro" famous analog geeks heaven. Prenzlauerberg and Kreuzberg are really nice for going out, but basically you can find intersting bars and things everywhere. For clubbing try "Wilde Renate" its a mental place...

berghain is the obvious one. horst has some great bookings but i'm not a huge fan of the venue, ditto maria. ummmm, kleine reise. sameheads if there's a party on. paul surefire runs a night called spy im keller in this church cellar, which is a lot of fun, usually a wonderfully haphazard 50/50 mix of old jungle and stuff that totally isn't jungle (pop, guitar bands, house, weird bits of electro, whatever).
i can't stand watergate and bar 25 (which has finally died now though i hear rumours it's reopening across the river or something like that); never been to weekend but kinda assume that it'd be much the same. still, if yer a tourist then they're kinda fun i guess. i don't think i've ever heard anyone say anything good about the new (as in since 2005 or so) tresor. again, never been, but i'm inclined to take my friends' word on this one. man, i dunno. i mostly end up going to the same places, occasionally venturing further afield if RA tells me there's something good on. it's a real shame rechenzentrum closed down, that was a great club in summertime.
apart from clubbing: teufelsberg (google it) is worth a look. and the old tempelhof airport has reopened as a public space which is beautiful if you've got a bike on a nice afternoon. you can cycle across the entire field, down the runway etc and be surrounded by miles of wide flat open space, literally in the middle of a city. fleamarkets (boxhagenerplatz is a bit less crowded than mauerpark and a bit cheaper), plenty of museums and history. schneider's büro was already mentioned; make sure you have a look at the opening hours though as i think they're irregular.
