BrokenBeat Night@ Kadan SALT LAKE CITY INVASION
[GLITCH|DUBSTEP|DRUMnBASS|VISUALS]

This month we are proud to bring you the founder of Liquid Dubwise, one of North Americas longest running dubstep nights in North America, ILLOOM.

Making the trip out to SD with him will be our long time co-conspirator DARKSIDE.

Heres the details:

ILLOOM *SaltLakeCity,Utah*

Dubwise/ 50 Hz Healers

With a dub saturated sound, solid track selection and a reputation for bringin' it proper, illoom has been pushing the limits of speakers and genres for years. With well over a decade behind the decks, James Loomis aka "illoom" has become one of the pioneering figures in the Salt Lake City mutant bass arena. Founder of Liquid Dubwise, one of the longest running dubstep nights in North America, he keeps his city on the cutting edge of sub culture. Despite a heavy rotation of residencies at Dubwise, Basscamp and the Hive in SLC, Sidecar Subsessions in Park City, and Basscamp's Temple of Boom in Black Rock City, illoom always brings a fresh take on the music and new tunes every time.

In the last year alone, he has shared the stage and smashed the crowd with heavy hitters such as N-type, Caspa, Bassnectar, Tesla Rok, Rusko, Noah D, Excision, the Others, 12th Planet, Matty G, Babylon System, Vibesquad, SPL, ill Gates, Antiserum, Djunya, and Roommate. illoom's sound is defined by high energy sultry basslines and frequent references to the reggae roots of dubstep, with special attention to keeping the ladies' waistlines wigglin. Ultra fast mixes and mash-up's see well over 30 tunes blended in an hour, in a seamless progression that, well, makes perfect sense. Constantly moving his sound forward with his original productions in the studio, 2011 has already seen 4 tunes signed to be released in late spring / early summer, and guarantees some of the freshest dubplates in rotation on the circuit. With a west coast tour planned around this same time, "this is the year that illoom emerges from being one of the state's best kept secrets." (Roommate of Babylon System).

illoom always packs ample vibrations of positive pressure to rattle the plaque off your bones.......a true 50 Hz Healer

Ms. Bea was born in Montevideo, Uruguay and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina where she studied Visual Arts at the University of Buenos Aires.

Her passion for image and sound spurred more than a decade of notable projects. Ms. Bea began a career as a DJ in 1999. In 2000 she played at Club Morocco, one of the most influential dance clubs in South America; and became a frequent Dj guest of Brandon Gay Day, a queer collective crew in the underground scene. Her love of visuals leads her to take courses with renowned Argentine photographer, Ignacio Iasparra. Subsequently, she began showcasing her work in the emerging Buenos Aires' art scene.

In 2002 Ms. Bea moved to Los Angeles, CA, where she and partner, Santiago Garfunkel, started the web-design studio Linealmedia. In 2003 she co-founded PixelUp, a collective of artists that have displayed a variety of visual works at several Los Angeles events, including Create Fixate and Early Bird (a multimedia experience created by artist Rodolfo Juarez.)

In October 2008 Ms Bea and fellow argentinean artist Jimena Sarno created and produced "El Miedo" a frame by frame animation based on an Argentinean myth as told by Eduardo Galeano in his book "Memoria del Fuego". The movie was launched on gothober.com 2008 #24 and was selected for Ann Arbor Film Festival's Animated Forest program.

In addition to her work as a designer for her online t-shirt’s company: A Blank Sheet; Ms. Bea is currently working in several projects that includes sound, visuals and its synergy; actively collaborating with San Diego's finest Fab Lab and Media Arts Center, partnering with photographer/director Tim Cogshell on Sugar Shot Photography, curating dj sets for brooklyn's talented collective Percussion Lab, capturing the world around with all kind of devices and broadcasting Tomorrow Goodbye Radio online thru the international artistic platform Radio23.org,

Ms. Bea's interest in digital creativity is paralleled with her love for detail; sense stimulation, abstraction, minimalism, fragments of time, and the nuances of light...and the concept that so much magnificence exists that is easily ignored in the inertia of our modern lives.
