Tutorials that greatly helped you ?

Post by Risky_Business » Thu Mar 31, 2011 4:48 am

So I recently lost my job and have been back to producing. Also with all this free time I've been making tutorials for other producers.

Was wondering if you could link me to a tutorial where the teacher/speaker delivers his lesson clearly and simply, or one that really helped you.
Not looking to steal anyone's lessons or material, I'm just looking improve upon how I convey my own thoughts on producing in my own videos and lessons.
My tutorials so far have been aimed at beginners mostly, but as I advance into more complex aspects of production I'd like to make sure that I'm clear and on point.
I thought about showing some of my first tutorials, hoping maybe to get some pointers, but I'm afraid DSF will rip me apart

Thank you to anyone who takes the time to respond.

haha at least high rankin had some humor in it. The warbeats videos really helped me out a lot as well. He gets a lot of shit from impatient people online, I can see why. He has great information but he also has 0% personality.

YOU KNOW WHAT TUTORIAL DIDN'T HELP ME AT ALL?

Seriously, I could take a dump on my keyboard while sleeping and it would sound more like scary monster bass than this
I even tried and this is what came out:

Loki's tutorials and producer masterclasses. Also look for "Sonic Academy" on Youtube, really helped me in regards to compression and busses.

When I decided to make the switch from FLStudio to Ableton Live, I watched a DVD with tutorials about Live 6 (I think that was the version? Can't remember exactly.) and stepped my game up quite a lot! Other than that, I'd say it's more of a mixture of different places and people! :)

Go to the sonic academy website and sign up as a free member. It gives you access to a lot more videos that aren't on their youtube page.

The dubspot channel on youtube is also very good.

Tom Cosm's 10 hour series on Ableton has helped me loads. You have to pay $10 to get it, but it was totally worth it ;-)
