Psychology behind all mid-ranged music

Post by Icey » Sat Apr 02, 2011 10:36 pm

Hello, I was wondering why especially mid-ranged music do get a lot of fans? I'm sure that many of you guys have heard about "Fred on dubstep" or "Kid listening to metal in the car", if not:

This kids probably knows shit what's happening, but still they move to the music and they feel it. Any thoughts on this? I mean, how often do you see a kid skanking to something deep yet with rhythm?

I hope that this makes any sense, and I'm not trying to start a flame war : )

There is a video somewhere of a kid going mental to Futurist by Instra:mental, there isn't anything special about midrange dubstep that transcends age boundaries.

My theory is that mid range dubstep is for idiots, pure and simple. These people have an overall sense of bullshit. Like they haven't got a fucking clue. If anyone even mentions to me that they like some two bit mid range artist I will instantly feel superior.

I see drum and bass fred on the tv programme 'rudetube' a while back, the faces he pulls when the tune drops, you would think this boys been reincarnated, and remembered his drum and bass days from way back. Probably the best youtube clip I have ever seen, apart from 'Zangief kid' that is.

Replace the 'yoy' sound with 'derp' in your mind. Creates endless fun.

Nice one idiot! You are deffo a superior knob! :u:

The real reason is simple, physical and not cos they are idiots! High end sound excites the brain, its not about anything else! So its not surprising that midrange music is more dominant out of the two... This is why you have white noise build-ups in every modern dance track and a lot of commercial music! Its quite interesting to learn about, I did some research into it. Just think about most big dance floor tunes you've heard, all of them have massive high end build-ups of some degree...

Yeah, it's the same in metal. The guitarist doing the "smiley-eq"(scooped mids), and that basically was commercial because it sounded so generic and yet it worked.

You shouldn't judge people on what they listen to. You should judge them on how they look, lol.

I'm trying to say that your arguments are as ridiculous as the statements I made within your thread. I know you didn't write this statement, but I can't help but feel offended by it/

Sorry if i put you in the same catagory, but this is one asshole who'll never really understand music. When he's on his death bed I will visit after a night of chilli beans and buttercup his face to death. Great alias btw.

No problem, but to be honest, I don't care too much what others listen too. Alias?
