I bought the rp6's and no problems so far. Seems like when I play what I mixed on the monitors to laptop speakers, it sounds great.

Re: krk rp6's or?
Also pretty durable so far. I dropped mine and it sounds fine, hit the wall then a desk then the floor (which was carpeted).

Ok so not for monitoring in the studio, I'm looking to get some speakers for playing out house parties and small bars and stuff. I'm looking for something with decent bass response but I plan on building a sub to go with it so it doesn't need to be ridiculously bassy. Would these be a good pick? Not to derail too much... but I've got birthday money and I want speakers to use at parties but don't know where to start

no these are nearfield monitors. at best they would be ok for one room at a house party. what you need are some PA speakers. just search for them you can get them fairly cheap. within the price range of these. and you could get sub later on if you wanted to but they would suffice.honey-d wrote:Ok so not for monitoring in the studio, I'm looking to get some speakers for playing out house parties and small bars and stuff. but yeah these krk's wont quite cut it for a party or anything. like i said maybe if your just having a small house party in your living room these might do the trick. but they're not ideal. plus you would have to push them to their limits which there not meant to be pushed for long periods of time so...yeah get some PA speakers not nearfield monitors.
edit: and yeah durability is a good plus since im in college and have stupid friends over that i probably cant always trust in staying balanced while there over lol
