I'm talking about new producers in general.

well for new producers in general, they have quite a few hurdles to pass before venturing into creative sound design. but I see creative sound design everyday basically so I quite don't get the question. (sorry if this is coming off as a dick post- truly not the intention at all, sorry)

What does the term refer to? Just sounds like a fancy way of saying music to me.

Sound Design as in creating synth patches or messing with samples in creative ways.

actually designing synth patches and not using presets or watching youtube videos on how to make a preset that everyone uses , and like creative sound design like noisia? they mad with their sound design

Problem with looking for new producers to come up with creative sounds is that they have to learn what different knobs and effects do first. Once they gain an understanding, and if they stick with production, that's when they can start getting creative. I hear plenty of creative sounds, but like the guy earlier said, you just have to know where to look.
