Devon Clarke (Bobo Saw) was born in Kingston 12 in Trench Town, Jamaica. Over a long career he has shared the stage with Sizzla Kalonji, as well as the legendary Burning Spear, Bounty Killer, Frankie Paul, Pam Hall, Mikey Merican and Jigsy King. Today he remains a prolific producer and talented performer. His career first launched in 1986 when he formed Declaration Music, which released its first recording “Color Kodak” in the same year.
In 1994, he migrated to the U.S.A and was awarded the 91.5 FM Youth in Progress award for his hit song Stop The War, produced by Bobby Konders of Hot 97. Also produced were a host of other songs such as Make Dem Gwan Talk, Ganja Man & Moving in a Very High Tempo.
In 2002 Clarke toured France, Switzerland, and the UK with Sister Carol, who recognized his potential for pleasing European crowds and helped him make the connection.
Devon is credited with the releases Color Kodak, World A Spin, Reggae Lambada, Days of School, Mek Some Money, Killing Feeling, Stop The War, Moving In A Very High Tempo, Revelation, Bits and Pieces, Worry Dem, Cry Fi Yuh Loving, New York Blues, Tenor Saw Dead and Gone, Belly of The Beast, Rock Solid, Mek Dem Gwan Talk (with Jigsy King) and Ganja Man Tune (with Yankee B.) He has also performed and released a song with one of the godfathers of Reggae, Sugar Minott, who promoted artists such as the late Tenor Saw, Yami Bolo, Junior Reid, Half Pint, Pinchers, and more.
Clarke’s first album, Against All Odds - Tribute to Tenor Saw & Nitty Gritty, was released on his label Declaration Music in the 1990s and was recently repressed by Deadly Dragon Sound System. He is currently working on a second album, but in the mean time has been taking in the success on his most recent single, Chip Off The Iceberg on Code of Arms Records.
