Sytrus dubstep presets/tutorials?

Hey guys, does anybody have any dubstep presets for Sytrus, or easy to follow tutorials? I've started making dubstep but I have NO idea how to use synths properly (I'm a complete n00b with music making, I've only ever used samples in GarageBand before). I'm going to figure it out over time, but until then does anybody have any presets or tutorials on making a yoiyoiyoiyoiyoiyoiyoiyoi-style bass for Sytrus? Also, are there any tutorials for making an agressive-sounding synth similar to the one you hear at the drop in the Skrillex remix for Hey Sexy Lady?

Edit: Also, in the song Take Over Control by Afrojack, how do you make that "air bass" effect that drops at 0:52/0:53?

And again, SPESIFICALLY SYTRUS. Right now all of this synth-related tech talk is completely new to me so I only have a very rough idea of what you mean.

I sorted a few yoyos before in sytrus. It was all about setting the oscillators to the right pitch and then using the fm matrix (the square bank of knobs on the main screen) to multiply the frequencies by each other.

Try make a normal bass sound then have fun with the low shelf filter and the matrix.

The Sytrus isn't really an easy synth to begin with but trust me it's fucking amazing when you start to get used to it

Yea sytrus is great when you know FM synthesis and know your way around. i dont know about presets cuz i havent used it in a while but i used to go through all of the bass presets and modify their LFOs for the sound i want.

you'll find plenty of information on skrillex, yoyos etc.

2. i wouldn't recommend starting off with sytrus, I tried it when i first started producing, the mod matrix confuses me to this day
synthesis is a complex matter (at least for me) and you shouldn't expect to get anything out of sytrus as a beginner. look into subtractive synthesis first, you'll have to learn all about oscillators, filters and so on. an excellent freeware synth is "Clearsynth", or just use the 3xosc that comes with FL. it may not look like much but it will get you started. after that you can start to get into the heavier stuff (FM, AM, wavetable, etc) and if you really want to get into it look at http://synth.tk/ and how to make a noisea LOT of really in-depth information.

Sort of a rant coming, so feel free to ignore:
Why do you want to sound like Scrillex (or anybody else for that matter)? You don't like Scrillex cause he sounds like someone else, you like him cause he sounds like Scrillex right? So why would someone else like you because you sound like Scrillex? Why wouldn't they just listen to Scrillex?
Second, it'll probably take you a couple of years before you can make decent tunes. What are the chances that yoy yoy yoy will still be the thing at that point?
Third, Sytrus gives you so many options, six oscillators with fm, all the filters and effects, etc. There are so many possible sounds in Sytrus that no one has ever heard, why would you try to make one that's already been used in bare tunes?

One tip for making dubstep-style basses (not Scrillex specifically): set Osc 1 = sine, Osc 2 = saw, then fm osc 1 with osc 2 (turn the knob in the first row, second column). Put it through different filters, use a cutoff envelope, etc.
I just made this in five minutes by twirling the cutoff and resonance knobs:

Well mainly I like the sound of his basslines and I want to replicate something similar to it. I've only downloaded one of his songs, actually.

And I haven't tried to experiment with Sytrus because as I stated before I am a complete n00b with synths. I have no idea about cut-offs, envelopes, LFOs, etc. You're speaking another language to me.

You can't really expect to sound like the pros right away. It takes a long time to learn how to do these things, that's why we pay to hear people who are good at it.
So instead of trying to sound like Scrillex, try to learn how synthesis works and make some new sounds. Then by the time you understand how Sytrus works, you won't have to sound like Scrillex, you can be the next Scrillex, and we can have twenty threads a week asking how to make a bass like Gubstep.

Experimentation is how you become not a n00b. Turn the knobs until something good comes out, save it, keep twirling the knobs, eventually you'll get a sense of which knob-settings sound good.
If you use a tutorial and follow someone else's recipe, all you ever be able to make is a copy of someone else's sound.

I more recently started using Sytrus as my main synth over Toxic BioHazard, and it's been pretty great so far. All I did was mess with knobs and such, figured out how they affected the sound, and just kept going with it. Most of my stuff sounded terrible at first, and then it got better. And then, after learning how to do that with Sytrus, I just took a simple bass (no effects tbh), and bounced it out into a .wav file to use as a sample and just kept resampling it until I got the sound I wanted. It's all about experimentation, and maybe one day while you're messing with the sound, you'll get a sound similar to Skrillex's bass. Either way, learning the synth first is the way to go. Figure out how synthesizers work, and go from there.

Ah okay, I've been trying to do that already but I haven't bothered with resampling. Maybe I will some time in the future.

Well mate, if your new, what you should do is learn yourself through experimentation.
Really too many people expecting to sound proffesional within days of just downloading a DAW, let alone learning the basics of it.

i wouldnt dive into sytrus just yet if your a synth noob. i would first go with 3xosc, then atlantis, then albino or massive, THEN Sytrus...FM synthesis (which is what sytrus is) is a lot more complicated and mysterious than additive or subtractive. I still consider myself a synth noob, but i am in the process of now learning FM

Mate, just use 3xOsc until you get the gist of things, really, that's the best you'll probably do for the moment.

3xOsc is an underrated synth imo. I've NEVER made a tune without it, and doubt any other fl users have either

Mate, just use 3xOsc until you get the gist of things, really, that's the best you'll probably do for the moment.

3xOsc is an underrated synth imo. I've NEVER made a tune without it, and doubt any other fl users have either

and btw I agree with everything you said. OP needs to make his/her own sounds and not try to be skrillex (no matter how tempting it may be)

I did things the hard way, Sytrus was the first synth I worked on, and I used only Sytrus for the longest time. I finally realized that using Sytrus to make a pure sine sub was kind of a waste of cpu. And also that I had a half-dozen other synths that I never used and maybe should try?
I like 3x osc because you can use the 'instrument' tab in the channel window on it. It's easier to have the same envelope and lfo controls for samples and synths imo. But I do like the customizable envelopes in Sytrus.
