Mantra - Breathe / The Ritual

Here's two tracks from our very first release. I (Chris) produce, and my friend Kieran sings. I'm a bit newer to producing, so my style is very raw at this point. Mixing isn't my strongest trait whatsoever, but I'm working on getting better at it.
Kieran and I started this project after we had been listening to a lot of experimental pop music, and we wanted to blend some of the 'contemporary' genres we'd been listening to with an aggressive pop mentality. We also ended up including a bit of a post-hardcore influence, considering that was the music that we'd grown up being into (Bands like The Fall of Troy, Circa Survive, At the Drive-In, etc) and were still longtime fans of. Given the similarities between heavier dubstep drops and metal and hardcore breakdowns, we considered using it in a similar sort of environment. I've also always been interested in Chip music, so there's a pretty strong chip influence in my music as well.
BREATHE (sampled the band This Town Needs Guns in the beginning)

Hope you guys like what we're doing. =)
