So I have a track where the acapella I'm using is from an obvious source. Its not lady gaga or anything but its something alot of people will recognise.
Are there any risks to putting this on my soundcloud?

Putting it on your soundcloud?
If you are not intending on releasing it then there is no problem at all.
Even if - and its a very very very longshot - the artist does contact you - whats the worst that can happen? They make you delete the tune from your profile?

They can only "really" take legal action if you try and sell it commercially. Its a rare occurrence but ive know people be go contacted about where they sourced the stems because they have been stolen from a studio/labels office but this day and age with the internet that is extremely rare.

Yeah I've used Thom Yorke samples and that, it's as long as you dont try to sell it.
Hence why the bootleg came about I suppose?

I've used a fair few samples and acapellas and never once had a problem.
