I find it kind of weird, that someone like me, who plays First chair trumpet, goes to producing dubstep. I have always been into gaming and technology and stuff like that, and dubstep was just something that when I heard it i was like "whoah, I wanna do that!" what about you guys? Did or do you play anything other than producing dubstep?

I played guitar for a bit, never learned songs, just scales and exercises. I could never be in a band I'm not cooperative enough.

Yeah I always loved the sound of a tuba, maybe it was the love for the bass

proper hard to play though- i spent about 10 minutes spitting down one failing to play a note

Interesting little fact right there. I play piano for the most part.

not really anything strange but i played guitar for 4 years before producing (attempting to) dubstep

Playing music has always been central to me. I played classical piano, bebop on the sax (alto, tenor and bari), punk rock on guitar, bossa nova, did some indie/alternative stuff, I mean I can play flute, clarinet, trombone, mallets... I was fascinated by the variety of sounds so when I caught on to producing it was like a dream for me cause I could arrange them all like a composer, and that was before I ever even heard dubstep.

I started playing flute poorly in the 5th grade (STFU,) then sang for punk rock bands in the late 80's/early 90's, then started playing guitar, keys, & a little percussion and trying to play anything anyone put in front of me no matter how ridiculously difficult, then moved on to recording.

Nothing weird about it.

I've been playing the guitar for a few years. Mostly metal or metalcore stuff that I liked as a teen.

i used to play sax for 3 years, trumpet for one year and drums for about 2 years. dont do anything of it now, which is a shame really. i still sing & rap though

Been playing guitar 3 years. It's nice sometimes just to sit down with it and and come up with a load of stuff instead of sitting behind a computer pressing buttons.

yeah this is what i do.
chicks love it, they ask so what songs do you know and i say just the ones in my head. they think your all deep and renegade and shit but really you just cba to memorise any by jose gonzalez or bon iver.
