akai mpk not wokrking! help(FIXED)

So I finally picked up an mpk49 today, haven't used it yet will play w it when i get home and do a review of it, but meanwhile I have a question. What's the most effective way to use the faders on it, besides obvious like the parameter of a synth or something. If I wanted it for mixer tracks, say I have a mix perfect. And then I want to open another project, they aren't mOtorized, know what I mean? Wouldthey jump to whatever value you is on the controller when I open a project or would I move he fader till it merges point in a project then it will move in the daw? I nope you know what I mean, it just has always confused me how faders would work within a daw. Unmotorized ones at least.

Yeah, you pretty much got it. Non-motorized faders pretty much suck. I mean, they're useful for writing in automation and live tweaking, but for mixing and what not, not working for me.

Yeah say I want to fade something out smoothly. Once I record the automation i z
Would have to leave he fader at what value I want it at when it's not being automated. Weird. I'll prolly use hen just within synths

while faders are nice this is one reason that made me chose the mpk25. since im am no pianist and i like/sometimes need the portability of the mpk25, it was a great choice for me.

only thing is imo the pads suck without modding. im either going to do the tape mod or buy the fat pads with the corx built in from mpcstuff depending on if i hear they are good or not

Ugh, the pads are just awful on the MPK, one of the few regrets I have with buying it...

okay its fixed now, amek its advertised as a plug and play so only comes with the preset editor,no drivers. i had to go into my device manager and tell windows where the drivers are for the usb port. Ugh i hate windows sometimes.

oh mine was plug n play on my mac in reason 5.

have you tried using the pads yet? i love the controller im just disappointed in the pads. i should not have to spend 50 bucks on different pads to make them work how they should, or do the tape mod. would it really be that hard for them to just put better pads in themselves lol?

but yeah i should be getting the fat pads soon. ill let u know how they are

Honestly I'm ok w them. I've never messed with a mpc to compare they are a little hard though I like the note repeat option though. Can I change the speed of it though? I bought a three year warranty w it so I can't do any mods until after that :/ but the pads are still usuable on full level. Which is most of what my drums are at anyways

there usable but there not as nice for tapping out fast triplets. i definitely am modding mine. im saying fuck the warrantee lol id rather take the risk and mod it. plus if it ever broke i would just take it apart and put the stock pads back in. i doubt they would even notice as long as im careful.

and full level is fine for me anyway cuz i can go back and use regroove. btw do you know how to use mpc swing on the mpk?

oh and to change the speed of note repeat click the time devision button then follow the line and select the speed you want by the buttons under the knobs. they say 1/4 1/8 etc..
