what equipment

Hello everyone i was wondering what all equipment i would need if i wanted to make music, particularly dubstep . thanks. :o

a decent computer, active monitor speakers and a MIDI-keyboard... This is the basic setup and since music production is becoming more and more software based you won't need anything else to produce decent music.

the internet is full of resources, "google is your friend" as always. For me kvraudio.com covered (and still covering) a lot. But even this forum is full of useful info. Might try this one as well for getting the basic info: http://www.dnbwiki.com/index.php/Main_Page

search for tutorials... a good tutorial page btw: audioforce.net

DL the demo of a program called Reason. Mess around with it. Solo different instruments, investigate why they sound like they do. Read the manual... it's good software to learn the basics.

Ryan, i would download a few popular DAW programs before you invest the money. That way you can see how each works and if its the right fit for your creative process. That way you spend more time fleshing out your ideas and less time teaching yourself how something works.
