"Inny Świat" (meaning "Another World") is a release containing 11 remixes of tracks originally published on albums by Masala / Masala Soundsystem between 2004 and 2008. The new versions of Masala tracks were prepared by a host of talented & critically acclaimed producers of 'alternative club music' from Poland, UK & US. "Inny Świat" isn't a typical remix-album though - it goes far beyond the boundaries of this kind of releases. Why's that? Only 4 out of 11 tracks included on the album are typical remixes, basing only on the original stems and the remixer's work. Meanwhile, 2 remixes of originally instrumental tracks were given fresh lyrics & vocals and 5 other remixes are enriched by re-recorded or previously unpublished vocal & instrumental tracks prepared by the original members of the group and numerous co-operating musicians.
"Physical" manifestation of "Inny Świat" will be sold from 09.04.2011 during Masala concerts and Molotov Cocktail Party soundsystems (parties played by the musicians of Masala). It will be also available by mail order through http://masalasound.pl and in host of independent music stores around Poland. Thanks to sticking to the independent distribution system, we were able to keep the price of this album on the level of 10 PLN (~ 3 Euro) + delivery cost. Whole remix-album "Inny Świat" is available for free, legal download through http://masalasound.pl website.

BAND INFO:
In 2002, a Polish journalist, writer & traveller Max Cegielski gathered a group of friends to form an ‘oriental’ DJ collective named Masala Soundsystem. Their idea in terms of music was to present a thrilling selection of folk-soaked party tracks from various parts of the world, totally omitted by the ‘mainstream’ media. Their idea in terms of philosophy was to show that cultural differences between nations and races don't have to be a source of conflicts - they can be a basis for a fascinating musical dialogue led in the area of music and common joy instead.
In the following years, numerous DJ’s, instrumentalists, vocalists, MC’s, turntablists and oriental dancers from various parts of Polish and international musical scene came across the ranks of Masala. Apart playing parties as a soundsystem (currently named Molotov Cocktail Party), the collective has become a regular band, releasing 5 albums full of original, eclectic music. Since its beginning, Masala received heavy praise from the fans for putting lots of heart into their energetic live performances. As a result, the collective played over 500 parties and concerts, including gigs at the most prestigious Polish festivals (Heineken Open'er, Przystanek Woodstock, etc.) and well-received foreign gigs - in Cross Club (Prague, Czech Republic), Colours of Ostrava Festival (Ostrava, Czech Republic), Multi Kulti Festival (Berlin, Germany), Fusion Festival (Dorf-Mecklemburg, Germany), A38 (Budapest, Hungary) and more...
How to describe Masala’s sound? It’s a clash of traditional string instruments with the modern sounds of synths, a confrontation of the oriental drums like darabuka or dhol with drum machine or beatbox, a meeting of throat singing from Tuva with contemporary urban poetry thrown onto the beats by an MC. Masala gathers masters of various musical genres and techniques, who seem very unlikely to come together, however the final result shows that they are more than able to co-operate in a perfect harmony to create something extraordinary... There is no other band bringing such an insane plan into life. From a melancholy of dub to the wicked energy of electro, dancehall, breakbeat and drum’n’bass, from East to West, from the past to the future, from Tarnobrzeg to Bangladesh. Total Masala!
