The theory that isolation breeds creativity has never been as apt as it is for Truth, a dubstep outfit hailing from one of the world’s most southern cities.
Truth, undoubtedly New Zealand’s greatest Dubstep export; have been making a huge impact around the world with their heavy bassline riddims. Truth have a style that defies categorization; encompassing an array of melodies, vocals and spacious beats that range from half-step stompers to the deeper profound realms of sound; all with one common element which underpins every track; a heavy bassline riddim that lays sheer force on any system heavy enough to handle it.
Truth’s dubplates have been receiving vast DJ support from around the globe with artists including; Mala, Skream, Benga and Mary Anne Hobbs to mention a few, with their beats being dropped at shows from venues as far away as Club Love in New York City to DMZ in London, from Double Happy in NZ to Sonar in Spain, as well as featuring on Radio shows including the BBC’s Radio One and ‘Rinse FM’.

Rinsed heavily by SLUGGO, Downlink, Bassnectar, Vaski, Mark Instinct, PANTyRAID, Ajapai and more, their Debut EP “The Wrestler” [Ultragore] made home to Beatport’s Dubstep Top 100 Chart with the title single in the Top 10 for 3 weeks.
The next releases “Hostages” [Ultragore] (collab with SLUGGO) and their freely available “Dramatron”, “Beat Down” Squitty Bubbler], along with the classic “Whistle Tips” [Dubsaw] (collab with Point.blank) have each received similar fanfare and critical acclaim, and have helped them earn the incredible support of the powerful Dubstep blogosphere.
Forthcoming releases on Play Me, Ultragore, and Dub Cartel have these boys primed for bass music domination. Expect to see collaborations with Point.blank, Mark Instinct, SLUGGO, Hulk, and others as well as an original EP featuring Dubstep, Drumstep, and Electro.
