PSP vintage warmer quick-master tips?

I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to use vintage warmer to make my music sound louder and a bit more compressed? any settings to start from that I could tweak?
And before the "mastering takes years of experience etc" rant (which don't get me wrong is very valid) I am not using this as an actual substitute for mastering, just to make songs louder for when I send them out

cheers

Best tip I can give you is don't do it. Use something else. Vintage warmer can add some nice character to a channel, or even a bus. But at higher settings it will start sounding very harsh and distorted. For limiting a whole track, you really want something a bit more transparent. PSP Xenon has a very good reputation for that. Waves L1, I think is still on special. Izotope and Sonalksis do nice ones. If you are regularly going to want to bump tracks up for soundcloud or whatever, it would be worth you time to invest in a dedicated tool for the job.
