About The Release
On “Aqua Lung”, Bastille combines elements of bass, funk, and pop sensibility to refreshing effect. Alessia’s vocals and the song’s well-paced arrangement are departures from conventional wisdom and illustrate the musicality of the ever-evolving bass music sound. About Bastille
Bastille is a new artist from Cambridge, UK who specializes in the musical side of dubstep and its emerging offshoot sounds. Brought up on a musical diet of funk, soul, blues and jazz with influences spanning both the classic and modern eras, his songwriting is far more than just loop-based beats. After developing his production skills and spending time writing downtempo and drum & bass, Bastille merged his disparate influences into a uniquely melodic take on bass-heavy music. His production chops have evolved quickly, little wonder as Bastille hails from an exceedingly creativity-inclined family — he counts among his siblings Hospital Records artists Nu:Tone and Logistics and the contemporary visual artist Mr. Penfold. “Aqua Lung” / “Farewell My Lovely” is Bastille’s debut release as an artist and Deceast is very excited to introduce his music to audiences around the globe.
