Beginning life at Croydon’s now defunct Big Apple Records store, Hatcha championed the sound, from his then residency at London’s FWD club night, through to his radio shows, first on South London pirates, then Rinse FM and now Kiss FM. More recently he was nominated for Mixmag’s Greatest DJ of All Time Poll, alongside heavyweights Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox, and Grandmaster Flash.

I'm sure with Hatcha's skill this will be mixed to perfection. I can understand the tracklist from a commercial point of view. It sure is aimed at a wide audience and I hope some people will get to know some of the better artists through listening to this mixed compilation. It has some classics in there and some old skool and experimental bits.


As for me, I politely pass because the majority of the tracklist doesn't speak to me at all (some tracks are even pants). And the tracks I do love I have on vinylzzzz.

For anyone new to digital DJ'ing the unmixed .wav version currently available for download through Juno is insanely good value at £14.99, plus you get the mixed CD's thrown in as well!
