CAN I START BY SAYING THAT I HAIL FROM THE UK HOME OF DUBSTEP, I,VE BEEN MAKING DUBSTEP NOW FOR 7 YEARS,AND PLAYING IT FOR AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER.
BEFORE DUBSTEP WAS KNOWN AS DUBSTEP WE USED TO PLAY TUNES BY ARTISTS SUCH AS
EL-B, WOOKIE, JAY DA FLEX, HORSEPOWER, ZED BIAS, SO SOLID, ORIS JAY.
I COULD GO ON, SO YOU GET THE PICTURE.
SO IT SEEMS FUNNY TO ME THAT A COUPLE OF YOUNG UP & COMING DUBSTEP PRODUCERS
OR SHOULD I SAY USERS OF SIMPLE PROGRAMS LIKE FROOTY LOOPS,
CHOOSE TO DEFINE MY SOUND AS NON DUBSTEP???? UUUMMMM
EVERY ONE HAS AN OPINION I GUESS BUT GUYS COME ON

"HOW DO YOU DEFINE DUBSTEP"

LISTEN TO SCIENTIST, KING TUBBY, JAH SHAKA,ASWAD,MAD PROFESSOR AND SO ON,
THESE ARE ARTIST, I GREW UP ON, MY FATHER IS JAMAICAN, SO I THINK I,VE GOT A PRETTY GOOD UNDER STANDING OF "DUB"
MOST OF THESE ARTISTS THESE GUYS ARE TO YOUNG TO EVEN KNOW BUT THEY TELL ME MY SOUND IS NOT "DUBSTEP"

I FINISH WITH THIS STATEMENT, I DEFINE WHAT I KNOW TO BE DUBSTEP,
IT COMES FROM WITH-IN AND NOT FROM PRESETS USED ON A MICKY MOUSE SET UP
I REST MY CASE

Dont worry about what certain Yout-Tubers have to say. Dubstep is Dubstep.

End of.

First off, can we quit with the all caps?

Also, you're chatting shit everyone with any sense already knows, that has been repeated thousands of times.

Also, hating on fruity loops? I've heard tracks created on complex programs that sound pure shit, and tracks that have been created on "simple" programs that sound sick. Burial using soundforge for example, and I think Peverelist uses Fruity Loops. The tool doesn't matter if you're producing top notch tracks.

One of the best things about dubstep for me is that many of the producers don't have giant studios.

edit: putting yourself above people because they use "simple programs" is pretty hypocritical... kind of similar to putting yourself above people because your dad is jamaican, huh?

Are Jamaican keyboards always on Caps-Lock?

It's also good to remember that the dub in dubstep has nothing to do with dub music, but rather it's usual lack of vocals
