Portal 2

Post by unwind » Thu May 05, 2011 2:23 pm

Like? Dislike? Why?

Personally I think it's a great game, makes a change to play an FPS where the objective isn't to destroy everything in sight with 20 different guns. It's simplicity at it's best and most challenging.

If COD is your favourite game ever, don't buy it. :4:

One of the best games ever made imo, played the first one Saturday and the sequel is just amazing, specially after playing the original.

this, i bought the first one because of the all the P2 hype and it was only £6 off steam, immediatly hooked. finished the game, played the challenges, downloaded custom maps. And now P2 is on it's way in the post, is it co-op on pc too?

My english teacher gave me a weird look when I mentioned that as the musical instrument I played. Like the wtf stare. I had to give her the 'wiki wiki' dj motion to confirm what i meant.

In my top 10 games. Portal was a good thing for Valve! To be fair though, Valve rarely do wrong.

^^the first one was taken on by valve after they saw a student project called narbacular drop or something I think.

I'm loving it. Easily one of the funniest games I've played in ages, and some great twists and turns in the story as well. I haven't finished it yet but I think gameplay wise I might prefer the first. I feel like the puzzles aren't as challenging in this one, but then again I haven't finished it yet so maybe I should hold my tongue until then.

Yeah I finished it on the day of release. Was still a wee bit too short.

great game the gels are amazing

only gripe I have (which isn't the game's fault) is I bought it on my Mac and every time I play it the fans on my laptop go absolutely apeshit, was playing it super fast so my computer wouldn't blow up :) (No Mac jokes pls)
what is of value and wisdom for one man seems nonsense to another.

waiting for it to inevitably go on sale in a couple months since portal 1 was short as hell even with extra map packs and heard the same about 2 (hell bud of mine streamed the whole game in one sitting in like 8hrs i think)
that and people on my steam list keep trying to get me to do coop

Never thought I'd see this... Is COD really your favourite game of all time?

I mean, yeah it's got highly addictive online play... But... Quake? Doom? Fallout? Bioshock? Half-Life? IMO all of these are far better games than COD, both story and gameplay-wise.

COD is the definition of 'Milking it'.

But yeah... Portal has taken me by storm. Never played the original, so I thought I'd get the second to see what it's like, and I'm glad I did now. It's made me laugh more than any other game ever has, and it's given me more of a challenge than any of the current FPS games have, so I give it 9.9 out of 10. Valve! :W:
