Bubbling out of the S.F. underground, "From Brooklyn to SF" is an adventure of Dread bass, dubstep/dub, and desi dancehall featuring N. America's most adventurous vocalists. The Singers on this release are Juakali, Zulu, N4SA, Blacksmith, and Gurmeet. This follows the recent release of MC Juakali's 12" EP, where Kush appears alongside dubmasters Alpha & Omega, and NYC's Drop the lime. Kush Arora teams up with 3 other Bay Area producers, in dub. Surf's Up with Luke Argila is an Indian surfing dubstep anthem, Surya Dub with Maneesh The Twister explores UK digital Steppers with Gurmeet on Vox, and "Boss Strutt Dub" with process Rebel enters the world of sound design and IDM. Kush has shared the bill with Dr. Israel, SF's Dhamaal Soundsystem, opened for Theivery Corp, and regularly plays the 10 year long running Dub Mission in San Francisco.

Juakali is the resident MC of New York City's premier dubstep event, Dub War, and the internationally fueled bass driven club night Sub Swara. This year alone he has been featured on tunes by UK Dub heavyweights Alpha & Omega, Bristol's dubstep legend Pinch, NYC's Dhruva and SubSwara Crew, and many other groundbreaking producers. He recently performed at last years World cup halftime!

Raz Mesinai aka Badawi/Sub Dub has been on the forefront of the new dub, world, experimental electronic, and avant garde new music scenes for over a decade. He's released over a dozen influential albums since 1991 including: Sub Dub (1992), Badawi - Bedouin Sound Clash (1994), Jerusalem Under Fire ('96), The Heretic of Ether (1999), The Unspeakable (2000), Soldier of Midian (2001), Clones and False Prophets (2004), And the most recent release on Asphodel "Safe". His records have been released on various labels including Instinct, Asphodel, ROIR, and Tzadik. Upcoming releases are a Badawi remix album featuring Dj Spooky, Kode 9, Dj Rupture among others, as well as a new Dub step record due to be released later this year. Badawi will be dropping some his latest treats at Surya Dub!

Lady Ra
has become a fixture on the Vancoucer world music scene as Her flair for selecting wicked tracks and mixing them with ambient global sounds has been recognized up and down the westcoast!

Surya Dub is the next level in Global Dubwize Vibes and Dread Bass Culture. Surya Dub is uniting all Dubwize sounds from Roots Reggae to Dubstep and Ragga to Dread Bass Breakbeat and Drum'n'Bass to Bhangra, S. Asian Electronica and Global Bass Beat Bizness.

Pitchfork magazine's Martin Clark aka Blackdown features Surya Dub and Sub Swara in "The Month In: Grime/Dubstep." Check out what they say about how these two events are pushing this sound further into uncharted territory while uniting and mutating dubstep with dancehall, dub, desi vibes and much more!
