Would a collaboration sticky thread be of use to anyone?

As per the thread title, would a collaboration thread be of use for people?

Users could leave their details, something like;

DAW used
Experience level (like number of years producing etc)
Influences (both inside & outside of dubstep)
Example of work
etc

People looking for a collaboration could then read through, and PM people whom they liked the sound of and would like to produce with. Like a 'seeking casual relationships' section, but with sub bass.

Thoughts?

I think its an excellent idea. Would help me to find someone to Collab with who has the same experience/DAW as me, and other people, without having to post new threads all the time.

(Now, get back to work xD)

Great idea wub. Maybe also have 'location' as one of the criteria for people to leave. That way if there are folks who find out they live real near each other we could get some IRL collabs going too.

IT WOULD HAVE TO BE UNDER STRICT CONTROL

Can you define what you mean by 'strict control' ?

To let people get experience of working with other producers - a collaboration can take in pseudo real time via online means, such as producers swapping loops back and forth between each other whilst they work on an overall project.

If this idea was to be implemented, it would be a sticky thread at the top of the board, as opposed to a sub forum in itself. The benefits of this thread would be that all the producers/users interested in collaborating, be it online or IRL, would have a single go-to place for all their details.

This can be incorporated by including the Location field as per paravrais' comment above, and maybe a yes/no field as to whether IRL collabs are an option :)

Good idea, i think it'll make people more aware that this kind of collab is an option.

Tbh I've never though of doing a collab with anyone, but who knows, with a read through that sticky and a little inspiration, who knows what could happen :P

Good idea, see plenty of 'collab' threads pop up here.

i think this is a great idea, but a sticky would quickly become unorganized. I would find some other way to do it, like maybe a subforum or something

Like the idea of stating location. Would be nice to collab with someone in person. In Northern Ireland, not so easy mind you! haha to be fair i've seen a few of you about :D

I disagree with having a seperate subforum tho, there will be threads that go amiss. If its one sticky, people are more likely to read through each post, therefore nobody gets left in the dark so to speak. My opinion anyway.

What makes you think that?

A sub forum. For one topic. Seriously?
