The Bug presents Invasion of the Killer Mysteron Sounds
http://www.factmag.com/2011/05/16/the-b ... ds-in-3-d/
Soul Jazz and The Bug have co-curated a new double-CD, quadruple-vinyl compilation entitled Invasion of the Killer Mysteron Sounds in 3-D.
Compiled by Soul Jazz boss Stuart Baker and Kevin Martin (The Bug, King Midas Sound), the album is billed as a celebration of Dancehall Digital Dub and features soundsystem killers from the UK, Jamaica and beyond. Included are exclusive new tracks and mixes from Federation, Harmonic 313 and Stereotyp, popular cuts from Roots Manuva, South Rakkas Crew and Diplo, and “the toughest digital and twisted rhythms” from such legends as King Jammy, Prince Jazzbo, Firehouse Crew and Steely & Clevie.
The album is available in a limited edition, heavyweight deluxe hardcover 2-CD card-casing featuring a specially-commissioned graphic novel by Italian comic book designer Paolo Parisi. According to a press release, the comic depicts “a science-fiction vision of the future of digital music, featuring King Tubby, Steely and Clevie, Jammy, Jazzbo, complete with Alien Sound Lord Abductors, Aural Freedom Fighters and Digi-Dub Voyagers!”. The album will also be pressed on two separate super-heavy, super-loud, deluxe gatefold double-vinyl edition, with the first copies of these also including the graphic novel).
There really is no better music in the world than digital dancehall, but sourcing the good stuff is a notoriously arduous and involving task, and forbidding to newcomers. Invasion of the Killer Mysteron Sounds in 3-D does half the job for you, and looks to be an essential beginners’ guide to the fiercest, most futuristic riddims around. We expect it to see release in June/July.

Quality pressings on the first volume.

Just because you are a character, does not mean you have character.
