Wait, because he has an awkwardness towards answering his adopted daughters question about adoption and her birth parents means that the games producers are in the wrong because they bring up the topic. It seems there may be an elephant in that room.

I'm sure most adopted people can take this as a joke and so can their parents. In the clip they made fun of the character being fat but you don't hear outcries over the fat remark.

She'll get taunted much worse at school for it at some point or another, no doubt, and probably not in a comical way such as this.
Getting raged over it is dumb, but being on the news for it is just ridiculous really. I wonder if he pre-screens movies and TV for adoption talk. He should steer clear of Easy A.

To be honest, it is a bit insensitive. The game could have done without that section and still be a great game.
This definitely shouldn't have been on TV though, there are much more pressing issues...

to be fair when i opened this thread i thought it would be another ridiculous thing god fearing americans want to make a huge deal about for nothing, like the mass effect sex thing where they got it completely wrong. my dad was adopted (well fostered, he never got legally adopted by anyone) and after hearing some stories of his childhood and how it fucked him up, i can see why this would upset someone who is adopted or has adopted someone. maybe its just me but doesnt really seem like a funny thing to put in a game like portal, dont get me wrong though i wouldnt get so bothered as to make a news story about it. i think it was just something the developers didnt consider when they made the joke that an adopted kid would be sitting there playing that game, its just like joking about aids or 911 and shit like that. not so funny to people who have aids and or the families of those who died in 911/terrorist attacks etc the majority of people have not experienced such so it is considered 'ok' to joke about.
