Variations - Murder She Wrote / Reflections - OUT NOW

1. Variations - Murder She Wrote
2. Variations - Reflections
Cat No: MPD002 - Mutual Party Digital
Release Date: 16/05/2011
Variations return with force to deliver their second offering of diversity, showcasing their efforts to explore all colours of the 140 bass music spectrum. 'Murder She Wrote' dives into the mix cutting straight to the point: a brooding and relentless dancefloor track intending to pressure systems to the limit. Unsettling and jagged movements push the track forward with clinging atmospherics and crushingly simplistic raw drum work.
'Reflections' turns the A side on its head: a thought-inducing breakbeat roller, effortlessly making the listener close their eyes and move their head. A haunting and bittersweet melody cascades over a shuffling and sometimes gritty bassline, with recurring vocal stabs and reminiscently clock-like percussion.
Variations are a production duo from Hertfordshire, UK, eagerly exploring both 140 and 170 tempos and letting their combined interests for innumerable genres dissolve into their tracks. Intending to leave no stone unturned, delving into many avenues of electronic music in their chosen tempos, they've shown their future is bright and the only way is up.
