Who on DSF makes purple?

To be honest, I'm a self-confessed purple nut. But I can't seem to find many like minded people.
Aside from listening to just Joker, which is like listening to Timbaland despite never actually getting into hip-hop, is there anyone on DSF that actually follows/DJs/produces purple round ere??
The reason I'm asking now is cos I've created a new soundcloud group page to try and focus all of the subgenre's music in one place, its bloody hard to find more than a handful of new purple producers!
I'd really appreciate it if you shared your stuff with that group to give it some exposure and help it get off the ground, I'm big on the bristol sound but I feel like its hard to find the good stuff outside of bristol...
Find it here, and let me know who you are...

I've been trying to recreate the leads and basses you get in purple but am coming up short at the moment.
There are a lot of sweepy sort of Saw-waves with Square stabs, and they have a sort of 'fizzy' quality to 'em as well, like they're layered with white noise.

Good to hear.
Your 'fizzy' problem is pretty much down to the synth you use. Lots of software synths are tailored to be 'fat' (a'la Minimoog) which means they cut the top end and boost the low mids. There are some (like the free TAL Elek7ro) that are in the middle, and there are some (most SID emulators, Cakewalk z3ta+ and Rapture, NI Pro 53) which are naturally brighter.
Grab a bright synth, remember not to use the filters at all (and if there is no option use a Hi-pass set to completely open, not a low pass) and chorus and eq etc to taste.

I've been interested in making a purple track someday, not a fucking clue how to get the sounds though.

Had a quick listen, you've really got the sound down to a t, especially like Spaceman
So basically you're saying they're unfiltered saws with slight chorus and eq'ing?

Almost..
I think joker said it awhile back here but I'll requote him, saturation is everything. Get that bright saw, detune it a little, maybe with a bit of unison and glide, the saturate the crap out of it, you'll know when you've overdone it, but just before then it sounds golden. And by all means jay bring back the purple revolution!
EDIT, I almost forgot, all your sweeping is done with 'LFO to phase' rather than 'to cut-off'.

Yeah, cheers Gen.. Spaceman is a cool track, I remember promoting it on the DPC dubs channel.
I love the sfx in purple, the shivery sweeps and the "Sonic collecting rings" sounds that Joker uses sometimes.

So do I, the whole '8bit of the future' feel I get from that stuff is awesome. It's the only kind of dubstep that gives me that whole 'in a trance music rave whilst on pills' euphoria that seems to be missing from tearout and even melodic burial style dub.
Stuff like NastyNasty's The Goalie and the Tron VIP are probably the best examples.

Its a term Gemmy and Joker coined way back.. Purple w0w. I can think of a couple of reasons now, but the most obvious ones is that its a combination of red and blue, the original Sega colors.

Yeah some good examples of the more famous guys off the top of my head are Joker obv, Gemmy, Mensah (some are calling him the new Joker, he's sick), Me lol, and if your into the acoustic jazzy side of purple (with a lot less 8bit) then Silkie and Guido.
