What cable do I need?

Audio Interface has these outputs:
• 2 x TRS analogue outputs
• 4 x RCA Phono outputs
• 1 x TRS stereo headphone output
Monitors have these inputs:
XLR balanced and 1/4 inch jack balanced/unbalanced inputs
im guessing a 1/4 jack to jack would be the best option?
if so anyone know any decent cable manufacturers?

yeah, just make sure your jack to jack is balanced and you're away.

balanced cables are 2 core shielded (look at the jack plug, itll have 3 conductors...tip ring sleeve). unbalanced are just 1 core shielded (itll only have tip sleeve.)

balanced circuits reject induced noise, so yeah they're more ideal for audio stuff.

Yeah to clarify, TRS = 1/4" Balanced

So you can go out the TRS ouput of the interface straight into the TRS 1/4" input of the Monitors (or buy it so that TRS>XLR Balanced).

Also for general knowledge:
Mogami = best cabling
Neutrik = best connectors

make a cable that has Mogami cabling and Neutrik connectors and you are golden!

i doubt you can hear the difference in different cabling. its just wire, nothing else. make sure its a balanced circuit and the wires are twisted and
you're all good. dont fall into that trap of buying 100 quid 2 metre cables.

connectors on the other hand, neutrik are good conductors, made to withstand bare shit.

Firstly firsticles, I never claimed a difference in sound in the cabling, they are just signal carriers, I was referring to the quality of the cable, they are well wound, great quality and terrifically insulated!

Secondly, you can save money by buying a bulk order direct from each of the 2 manufacturers I listed (which are the highest quality) and build TONS of cables yourself, it is a great learning experience and is extremely easy (as well as a sought after talent). if you did this you can have a ton of the highest quality cables possible for roughly the price of one mediocre cable.

If we're going to get into cable politics:

http://www.monoprice.com/products/subde ... p_id=10244

This will sort you out for half the cost of home built cables. These are rugged as fuck, heavy gauged, and gold plated. I've only been using these cables for 6 mo now, but I use them daily. I use their patch cables and I'm like a switchboard operator over here, and they are working flawlessly in 10 years we'll see, but for the price, it will still be cheaper to replace them in 10 years. Actually, I'd just resolder them, but you know what I'm saying.

I dont think it has to be 1/4", doesnt TRS just mean tip ring sleeve?

TRS means tip ring sleeve, and is 1/4 inch in this context.
