KRK Rokit 5s to macbook (soundcards)

Post by wutwut » Tue May 31, 2011 9:53 pm

Easy guys

I've decided to invest in some new speakers/monitors, initially for just general listening. However I'm hopefully going to start moving towards the production side of thing as soon as I have enough time to properly commit to it, hence why I am drawn toward the KRK monitors.

This is my first time moving away from computer speakers so I was wondering if you had any advice for the best way to connect the monitors to my macbook. I understand that you could just link them directly, however I was thinking of using a usb soundcard to maximise sound quality. I've had a look through the soundcard topic but most of these are obviously directed at producers. Any advice on a suitable soundcard for just listening purposes would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance

i use the Tascam US-122 mkII series. It has good DA conversion and preamps for the price.
