What I need

So I'm 17, I go to an art school in the US. I've recently (within the past 2 years) developed a motivation to create dub-step rather than blues piano and whatever else and I have a pirated FL Studio 8 Producer Edition, decent 900$ Dell Inspiron laptop, and two BX5a M-Audio monitors. This Christmas I'm going to have about 1000$ to spend on other things to help me in the development of music.
The website where I upload all of my music and tracks and such is Www.Soundcloud.com/t2t
I'd really appreciate if someone could listen to some of it and tell me what other things I need to buy to help the process flow a lot smoother. I need help on what synthesizers, drum pads and software to buy.
Thanks! :Q:

You don't really need any hardware synths, they're nice to have if you got a lot of money. You should get a nice MIDI controller keyboard (I'd recommend the M-Audio Axiom, they got drumpads on it). In terms of software I'd say get Reason 5 or Ableton Live, but it's possible to make good tunes in FL Studio too. Skream uses FL. I personally like the workflow of Reason and Ableton Live more. Reason comes with great built-in software synths, if you choose to stick with FL you should get some good VST plugins. A lot of people recommend Native Instruments Massive.

I hope this is helpful to you.
