learning to produce dubstep or drum and bass first

alright so im very new to producing but i do want to really get in to it now. Im still just learning the basics of how to use ableton and things like that right now, but i cant decide if i want to learn how to produce dubstep or dnb first. Obviously this is a dubstep forum, so theres probably a bias towards dubstep, but to be honest i would kind of rather produce dnb as i probably do like it a bit more than dubstep. It just seems like dnb would be a lot harder to learn at first, with things like the drum patterns and it seems a bit more musical in some ways. Id be alright with making dubstep for a while though, if it was a lot easier to get into at first. So what do you think would be the best way for me to start out?

it dont matter producing is all the same, the thing is, is that you have to come up with your own style, so if you did that in drum and bass, then if you wanted to do a dubstep tune, you would want to transfer elements over to it from the drum and bass so thats it still sounds like you. beats are all the same, a drum and bass beat is no harder or easier than a dubstep beat, you just need to listen to the music to know how the beats go. if you make a dubstep beat in your own unique way, then you make a drum and bass beat in the same way, just a beat at a diferent tempo with a different flow.

Do that then, at least you'll be interested in it enough to follow it through to do a decent production. A lot of DnB is pretty much based on double-speed hip-hop so start off with a BPM around 85 then when you have cracked how to make a full song you can just double the tempo and play around to see what you can work. Jungley stuff is more '70s funk based, you can get the classic 'Amen' break cut up perfectly if you look about and that's a really good set of samples to play with to make drum lines because you don't need to touch it up (though you can if you want), most DnB comes out shit because producers compress the fuck out of samples and don't make any interesting rhythms... I stopped listening to jump-up because it sounds like a hail storm of washy noise that you can't dance to

If it were me, I'd produce dubstep first and then start to gradually speed up to DnB
