Just so everyone knows I tried searching through DSF and google but all I found was technical mumbo-jumbo that I didn't understand.
When I look through all these "how to make a sound/bass" threads I hear a lot about resampling basslines and all that cal but I can't find it explained. What exactly is resampling?
I also see a lot of people talking about layering their basses, such as high/mids/lows. I figured this had to do with EQ so I tried it out myself and I ended up with a lot of clicking and static. Can someone explain how to layer properly???
I'm running FL 9 with massive and for EQ I'm just using the fruity parametric eqs.
Thanks a bunch!

Resamplimg is saving your sound as audio, with all the effects and stuff on it, opening it up in a sampler, and piling more effects and stuff on it. Re-sample... kinda says it all in the name.
Layering doesnt usually mean piling a bunch of wobbles on top of each other, it means putting an already solid bass sound on top of sweeps/noises/soud effects to create a certain end result... listen to every datsik tune ever made, he layers everything with transformer/hydraulic noises.. ect.
Low/Mid/High, thats frequency splitting. If technical mumbo jumbo does your head in, I cant even begin to start on this.

You can add chroruses/phasers/distortion/wave-shapers/eqing/filtering/reverb/delay/etc or you can change the pitch or change the length.
Then bounce as audio...
Then repeat. You'll get some great sounds.
Good luck.

bouncing audio = ???
and for resampling why not just put all the effects on there the first time?

Bouncing audio = exporting to audio
Resampling can be good for things where you want to use multiple automation lines but don't want the mess of them all in the sequencer. It can also save CPU but if you change your mind a lot and are always altering sounds, then I wouldn't recommend resampling. It's not the magic effect a lot of people talk like it is.
About layering bass, search youtube for the Icicle masterclass. He does a bit on layering bass that might help.

When I started making resampled basslines I under estimated the power of reverb and delay, really important to experiment with them if you want to make dark moody basslines, check out Sonic Warfare in my sig

You've searched and couldn't find anything?

I find that kind of hard to believe, we have a lot of threads/resources on resampling here;
This thread probably gives the best introductory explanation -

If you'd like further details, there are a list of resampling resources here -

The search option in the top right will also yield results for resampling
