Hey Guys, So this Saturday is my high school Prom and afterwards there's going to be an after party at my homies house and this will kinda be like my first real "gig". Any way I've been practicing all week and I'm going to be mixing live all night with 4 mixes that I have practiced(2 dubstep mixes, 2 hip hop mixes). So my main question to you are things like What can I expect from this experience, would Mixing while high and maybe a little drunk be a good/bad idea and also Will I be able to hook my laptop up to my friends sound system and how could I go about doing that. Any feedback would be fucking great. Thank you all.

If you are mixing via laptop software and are connecting straight to sound system, make sure that they connect with each other. Eg line-out/line-in connection. If you are hooking up to a mixer make sure you take the right leads.
Also its your prom.........get wasted. Fuck the mixing. You only have one prom (probably). Do whatever makes you happy. You dont want to miss out on all the fun cause you're trying to beatmatch 2 tracks that wont even be noticed by 99% of the people there!!

this,
also if the people arent really feelin dubstep (which happens at a lot of house parties) then either just ditch it and stick on a mix CD and get drunk, or go straight the hip-hop set
