JUNGLE flavoured dubstep suggestions??

Does anyone have any suggestions of ARTISTS and/or tracks that really do the old-school jungle vibe well in dubstep?

That huge dubby heavy bass pounding and jungle flavoured drums is what I used to really dig years ago with the likes of Itchy Robot's Raw, RSD or Clue Kid & Cotti with The Legacy, but havent really stumbled on much in that sort of vein for ages, I guess its becoming harder to find amongst all the explosion of noisy mid-range loud angry stuff, and I've had to have a step back from mixing/listening/promoting in the last few months.

Any suggestions appreciated. I feel the need to play plenty of the dubbier stuff generally to balance out the new wave noisiness thats been taking off lately.

definitely!

also been feeling a heap of Emalkay's stuff from the last 6 months for this vibe.

Tough drums, serious sub bass

Peep the mother's against noise collective. bracket, sully, duskky, hurtdeer, scanone. and a small handful of artists are pushing dark atmospheres and jungle vibes with dubwise intentions. Excellent stuff in that it fits nicely inbetween not being too overly aggro but also carries the bassweight of the more traditional dubstep.

*edit. the mix below is full of that sorta stuff.

Always wished hijack would come back with some more of this, love a jungle beat at 140 - so much room to work it!

Didn't LD do a bit of this as well?

CAT# SLAYER008 / RELEASED JUNE 2011 / FORMAT DIGITAL / ARTWORK makemassair

SLAYER, #008
This 5 track E.P. takes you on a journey of past present and future, Tracks like ÔBack 2 HackneyÕ and ÔMurdererÕ pays homage to the original Jungle sound of the 90Õs, with chopped up amen drums and 2 step beatÕs, rub a dub baselineÕs and sampleÕs taken from the legendary Saxon VÕs King Addies sound clash. Both tracks have that retro feel but fuse todayÕs production and synthesis.

While tracks like ÔGangland RiddimÕ and ÔOne Bag Of FuckeryÕ bring the fire to the dance with skanking warped basses, warp drive half time beats, acid house style bleeps and reggae tinged horns. Both tracks have been doing the damage from the U.K to the U.S.A.

Finally you have ÔIÕm On FireÕ which features collaboration between Yoof and new kids on the block 'The Dirty Rich'. ÔIÕm On FireÕ delves into more of a deeper ambient mood, with apocalyptic soundscapes, spacious but weighty drums and a twisting bassline that even the harder end drum and bass veteran would appreciate.

YOOF (Sonz of Mecha) / DJ Yoof aka Alex Orton-Green, one half of the legendary breakbeat outfit Sonz of Mecha boasts some serious credentials spanning over 16 years.

Recently Yoof has been delving into the world of Dubstep, teaming back up with his old collaboration partner J Da Flex remixing the Wu-Tang Clan and reaching number 8 in the iTunes hip-hop chart and also making it onto the last Ghost recordÕs album 'Nu Levels' alongside some of the UKs finest underground pioneers such as El-B, J Da Flex, Burial, Zed Bias & MRK1.

So, jungle flavoured dubstep as opposed to watered down remakes of old jungle tunes?
