Be aware of Keynote Music Management

Easy all,
Bit of a random thread and hope people understand, but I think it's time everyone is made aware of a company called Keynote Music Management. I don't want to come across slanderous or be putting a bad name on our label, but in all seriousness this is important information too anyone that is looking into setting up their own label, weather it be digital or vinyl format. My advice is stay well clear of Keynote Music Management.
When I first set up Orientis I was put into the direction of Keynote for distribution and this was a really bad move. I was struggling to get on board a distributor at the time and this seemed like a smart move. It wasn't at all, I have since then learned how they are run buy a bunch of thieves, crooks and con artists.
They have outright stolen £900.00 from me, and this is no joke or an exaggeration. As some of you are aware there was delay on ORTS002, which is finally getting resolved. However this delay was down too Keynote music management who was distributing our music at the time. When ORTS002 was ready to be manufactured in February, Keynote were persistent that I pressed through them as they could beat my initial quotes of manufacturing. Having already used them for the distribution of 001 I saw no harm in going through them for the manufacturing. At the start of February I paid them the full amount of £700.00 to press 002, 2 months down the line I still saw no test presses or any sign or the product. During this time I was lead on with various excuses which I believed, I was then emailed asking for a further £200.00 as they said they had got the initial quote wrong and it was going to be more money than expected. This is where it all get a bit pear shaped. I told them that I wasn't happy as they only reason I chose them for pressing was they could beat my initial quote and that now with the extra £200 it was going to be more than my original one. I also stated the obvious that it seems a little suspect that you ask for this money 2 months down the line after I was told on a number of occasions "don't worry test presses will be here next week". At this point I then said well if there no progress been made In the manufacturing I would like a refund of money as I am not willing to pay out a further £200.00.
I got in touch with consumers direct and found out where I stood in this situation, they told me I was entitled to a full refund and I made Keynote aware of this from a letter written by consumers direct. It is now nearing the end of June and I am yet to see a penny. I have sent them numerous legal letters regarding the matter and this doesn't seem to effect them. I was told I could have a refund but this led into more lies and excuses, they told me each week I would be seeing my money but no matter how much I phoned, emailed or sent letters there was nothing.
I would of done the obvious and followed up on action from the letters and taken them too a small claims court, but looking at the amount it was going to cost it just wasn't feasible and was still no guarantee I would receive my money. The likely hood is after winning the case I would of had to chase them up with bay lifts etc, in turn costing even more. Instead I decided to bite the bullet and use the money it was going too cost taking Keynote to court put this towards the re-manufacturing of 002.
To top it all off I am still yet too see any accounts, or money owed from the sales of 001, which I know is around £200. I will also never see this.
My apologies for the long winded thread, I know you don't want to read an essay, I just feel it was times that Keynote Music Management were named and shamed so people are aware and can me more careful than I was. I don't want anyone to go through the shit and stress they have put me through, so just giving you all a heads up on them!
Thanks for reading, hope this doesn't effect your views and support on Orientis!
Big ups!
