Logic users....

Apple has just released Final cut pro x.

From initial reading it appears that apple is targeting the prosumer market and has left out some important features that made FCS 7 a popular suite for professional editors.

Its quite clear that apple is following the money and I feel that Logic shares the same fate.

Obviously its pure speculation on my part at this stage but will any of you change platforms if the new version is dumbed down?

For me Logic is only part of the reason I use OSX but I'm guessing some of you use Logic studio to make a living.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. They already have a dumbed down version (logic express). Also, I think Apple has found a good place in this market (DAWs), because ProTools just ditched their requirement that you use their hardware (because Logic and other DAWs have been stealing market share), so it seems like Apple must be doing something right. However I wish they would sell logic pro as a standalone. I don't want to pay for all that crap I'll never use.

When the new OSX Lion comes out, the apple app store is being pushed as being the new place for anything apple. From what it looks like, speculations show that Logic will be a separate purchase, and not bundled in "logic studio".
Although this might not happen, fingers are pointing in that direction.
