Excellent mastering, good arrangement. You demonstrate understanding of actual songwriting, not just "production". Ends weird though.

What did you use to master this?

Thanks for the comments Thomas, yes it ends weird now as I have go so much to do with this track still!

I did a rough mix with some subtle sidechaining and newyork compression on the drums, then ran it through a TC finalizer preset.

Thanks for taking the time out to comment!

I understand you're a audio professional; I wish there was some way to measure how much of this mastering is your skill vs. the TC unit. No doubt you're skilled, but if I could spend a grand and get SMASHED tracks that approach this fidelity I'd certainly think about it. Know what I mean?

Thanks for the kind words! I've been called many things innmy time but never a professional! Lol

The tc finalizer was £300 second hand so was a bargain I guess!

I would say that the finaliser is a great bit of kit but the mix has to be right. It won't do the hard work for you. Tbh, I think t-racks or izotope could do a very good job also once you have a good mix to master :-)

Quoting your Myspace: "I make Urban and Dance music, Scratch DJ and Teach music technology for a living."

Literally, professional.

I took one of your tracks that seemed a little low. It had room in the track so I ran it through a finalizer preset... see what you think :-)

Great track, very professional, and good work with the synths. One thing though, the vocals seem a bit repetive in the drop part, and get a bit annoying. But its a minor thing, very well done!!

It's funny, I never really hear the vocals like that until you mentioned it!

I think I might have a play about and see what I can do about that :-)
