really? thats kinda the number one reason most people i know won't watch it.

in hand egg at least you can get penalized for faking an injury or attempting to disrupt a play by faking an injury (take timeouts and/or delay of game penatly)



anywho not looking to do _____ vs US just thought the commercial was spot on.

ive got a healthy fascination with soccer/football.... but like most americans wish the flops were penalized


NBA new CBA is going to start fining players $25k per flop and if they hit a dozen flops they will start suspending players. if they did that in soccer i think more people would dig it

Yeah if you were to ask anyone around here if they liked soccer, they'll tell you "no" and give you two reasons (rarely will they give you one):
1) The players are all pussies

2) There are too many 0-0 games.

Yeah, no-one over here will defend diving tbh. Still happens of course but we dont justify it as a legitimate move like Latina American and continent Europe does.

Still, below the Premiership players will get ripped for attempting it anyway.

You know, if you removed the allegiances, I reckon footballs a proper dull spectacle for the most part. If my teams playing then the rollercoaster of emotions and involvement is fantastic and incomparable to other sports. But if there's a random game on the tele I'll rarely sit through it. You do occasionally get the exciting game that neutrals can enjoy, but for the most part if you ain't really following a club I can see how football passes peoples interests.

it encourages individual matchups, creates numerous small battles.

Also that much scoring causes 'runs' or 'rallys' which are a huge part of american sports.

Need only look at this past years NBA finals where the dallas mavericks came back from 16 points down with 5 minutes left. That type of hysteria and excitement involved in that game is something you aren't going to see in soccer. (not saying its superior, just unique to the sport).

for me, it's really hard to compare any sport to another sport. i like the ridiculous scoring of basketball, it makes watching your favorite team that much more intense.
