I'm kinda new here on the forum, I registered here to find some artists to promote on my website.

It's with that website I need some help

I was wondering if some off you guys could give it a look and give me some feedback on what you like or dislike.

the website looks poorly designed and isnt particularly interesting. it has the feel of an oldstyle geocities website that is basically a pre-set, am i wrong?

also i'd be very careful having a 'best dubstep artist'. especially when nero, doctor p and modestep.

It's not a pre-set, it's basicly wordpress but highly customized.

Your right with the design, I'm a poor designer but I have someone working on it.

The best dubstep artists section is ment to get bigger, I want to let visitors vote which artist gets his own page the next month. Now those three pages are there mainly for some organic search engine traffic.

What do you think about the concept?

i think you should get rid of the 'best dubstep artist' bit. it will only alienate people.

whats different about your website? why will people go to yours instead of somewhere else?

i see the point in trying to give coverage to new artists but this is a very well worn path with many older, more established (and im afraid to say better designed) websites. i'm not saying give it up but you'll need to up your game in a big way to even try and compete...

I am not really sure what the concept (you need to address that, what's this website for / about / who?) is to be honest but, the design certainly needs work, it's a really ugly website. Sorry.

Also domain names with dashes in never seem to catch on!

But MOST of all it lacks content, there's simply nothing there to make me want to hang around or entice me back. If I were you I'd just rip off getdarker.com but change it enough so it's not so blatant, that's what most other dubstep websites seem to do.

Is the "Best Dubstep Artists" section your opinion? Because I'm sure a lot of people would beg to differ. Aside from the actual music, you should spend some time and give the website a more stylish look, maybe make a unique logo for ITO Dubstep. The whole site looks pretty generic and not welcoming. Also, there's nothing to make me frequent your website. There's nothing unique about your website and i bet there are other websites just like yours that I could go to...

i notice you're from belguim, maybe make that the focus of your site. push the artists and scene in and around your area.

its a good place to start is suppose. and will set you apart.

I know design isn't my cup of tea. I'm working on the stuff you guys provided, so thanks a lot.

I think about outsourcing those pages about dubstep artists to squidoo, then they're available for the people who want them and not bouncing my visitors.

And about the T-shirts, they only get printed when someone buys one, so I don't have to worry about a temporary design. I can change it whenever I want in whatever I want.

Common I've heard this one before; It are just pages attracting google traffic which leads to an income for me.

If you or anyone else hating because of those 4 simple pages have something else to say, something constructive, please feel free to do it.

I worked hard on coding, writing and even on designing, so please tell me what I should do better instead of saying the same thing all over again.


And this post will probably be the beginning of everyone dissing in this topic. I hope I'm wrong.
