They'll change their mind when there's better pill forms they can sell.
Marinol's not all that.
Marinol's not all that.

I really wish that this was a joke. I mean, "has a high potential for abuse"? Cake has a high potential for abuse if you like it enough. Are they blind? Did they do any research at all? 'Cause if they did, they would know that some people need it to function and there are MANY medicinal uses for it. I bet you that at least most of the people involved with making that decision have never been stoned before. I'll admit, I really only smoke(or vape) recreationally, aside from the occasional illness, but if I want to get stoned off my ass and have a wonderful time, then I should fucking be able to. I should be able to live my how I want to, not how the government wants me to. The ignorance of our government, although not suprising, sickens me. It also pisses me off me that alcohol and cigarettes are legal, even though it's for obvious reasons. I just wanna have a 1-on-1 with someone who thinks that way.

Dude cake isn't funny to joke about.
Re: U.S. Rules that Pot Has No Medical Use
Clearly, Americans have been abusing the cake if the recent news on obesity is anything to go by.
Re: U.S. Rules that Pot Has No Medical Use
What's gonna happen with all the medical marijuana dispensaries? Will it be left to each state to decide or will it be a federal ruling?
This is neither time or the place.
Re: U.S. Rules that Pot Has No Medical Use
There's no ruling. States have the power, but the DEA says theyll still crack down. Obama told the DEA to step off once before, and its unlikely he wont do it again.
Re: U.S. Rules that Pot Has No Medical Use
seriously that's where the us political system is fucked..states have the "power" to do what they want, then federal agency comes up arrest everyone, who technically had rights and licences to do it and throw all of them in jail.Wtf?borrowed wrote:There's no ruling. too bad its abc news tho; you walk away from that report with basically no information except that hash oil may or may not have helped a 2 year old chemo patient eat 1 piece of cheese.
i fucking love weed tho. and for fucks sake afaik CB receptor agonism has an anti-carcinogenic effect AND stimulates appetite. Its beyond me why CBR agonists aren't a staple in oncology treatments. i think theres like 20 years of research indicating that it would be a good idea?

I've got no doubts it was vital in saving his life though. I was in a similar position with a family member, and the chemo and drugs they give cancer patients are very dangerous and deteriorate the person so much it can often make things worse. It's risky. That's for someone otherwise "in good shape", imagine a little kid or elderly person. Aside from the cancer meds, usually they will also be on pain meds which just makes everything so much harder. Full blown hallucinating, detachment, depression...
This kind of treatment wasn't available, and my family didn't feel right letting me bring in actual cannabis, so we ended up making some brownies and muffins. It's just so hard for cancer patients to eat anything...
All that was available at the time though the hospital was the Marinol that I mentioned before, a synthetic cannabinoid. It was hell to actually get, the red tape to go through... and by the time we did it was just too late.
It can be used much more safely in a lot of cases than what is currently available. Even just to cure nausea for a while, stir up an appetite, lift their spirits for a bit... that can cause major positive changes for the patient and family. It's hard to get better if you feel like absolute shit all day from meds and just puking up liquid from an IV+feeding tube. Even if they still can't pull through, at the very least it can help make their remaining time on this Earth just a little bit better.
That's just one use. It was used medicinally long before we got here, and then someone got the bright idea of turning healthcare and medicine into a profit based market.
