DID YOU READ?

Post by knell » Mon Jul 11, 2011 11:43 pm

i'm not a fan of Portlandia's storyline, but their skits are amazing. Most of them you have to understand hipsters and Portland in general, but the phone one is classic.

Great show. The acupuncture scene was fantastic, as were the mayoral meetings and bookshop cameo's.

Love the tagline, "it's where young people go to retire".
This is neither time or the place.

First and third one were pretty funny. I've seen this show advertised on IFC a lot but I never watched it because I didn't care for him on SNL. Third one was great, hit close to home... dunno how many people I've met like that.

i hate SNL with a passion, so im confused as to how they managed to make some of Portlandia funny.

i didn't even mean to post the third one, i meant to post this one:

yeah, i was really surprised by how much i liked it, the most recent season's writing was very good...

glad they gave mark brandanowitz (or w/e his name was) the axe, to cut ties with all "The Office" similarities. i cant stand that show.

Is Portland the centre of hipsterism or something? Even the Black Metal bands are Hipsters!!
what is of value and wisdom for one man seems nonsense to another.
