lol all this time living in my house it just hit me, my dad got $8000 speakers with an amplifier i just realized this would be perfect for that final mix sound, the speakers are in a huge room which would be a great way to hear the final mix, whatyya guys think

chances are, those are far from flat frequency. $750 monitors are flat and will give you a true representation of your mix.

for mixing i use sony surround sound speakers (music not movies) its got a left right and center speaker with a sub, 26hz to 20khz frequency 24bit processer, i also use my headphones which i think is good too cause you can get down to 18hz to 22khz, and you can hear the sound so much better with enclosed headphones but thats just my opinion

it could still be a nice 3rd source to test from...

the car stereo is also a good bet

and to that i add the shitty ipod headphones..

use it as one of many playback systems... to see if ur stuff translates well..

but they're prolly not adequate for monitoring...

Yeah, since I don't have monitors yet I use as many sources as possible. I go from my headphones (for upclose/miniscule details), to my external speakers, to my laptop speakers, to my decent stereo, and then finally to my friends' mom's car. I don't go in any order but headphones pick up the smallest things so it's a good starting place, and then move on to the things that don't pick up as much stuff and frequencies, so you know your track can stand on it's own for the weakest system.

yeah man i do the same, im probably going to buy monitors in the future but for now i think im good, im in dire need of a bigger desk my workspace is way to crowded i think i might just save up for that instead

Flat production monitors mate...
Just because they are 8,000$ loud party monitors doesn't make them perfect for production
Check out some flat response monitors...
Shit if I run into some cash soon i'm gonna buy me some Genelec 8050A's

part of the the problem will be 8000$ speakers will make crap sound silky smooth rather than crap.

Yeah no dont mix on those. Mix on a set of solid monitors, then check the mix on your dads system to see if its got kick. Dont mix on it though, those are going to be curved to fuck.
