Metal/Rock Drums
ive been hearing a few tunes that sound very metal/rockish ; mainly because of the drums.. it sounds like the drums are live.. does anyone know where to get some samples for this?

Re: Metal/Rock Drums
how about some metal/rock tunes?!
or what about using addictive drums. they do some metal add on packs. personally think youre probably better trawling through some slipknot, metallica, maiden whatever tunes and sampling some individual hits for layering

Re: Metal/Rock Drums
Its expensive but I have EastWest Ministry of Rock and they have some amazing drum hits in there. If anyone wants I can probably sample the hits and send you the kit samples.
Re: Metal/Rock Drums
I would love to get a few of the better hits from that sample kit if ya don't mind mate

Re: Metal/Rock Drums
Yeah for sure man. Ill upload some hits from a drum kit. Just tell me which one. There are five of them. Ill do it later when I get home.
Re: Metal/Rock Drums
dude, if you goin the sampling route, i would def pull out pantera, their drummer was/is a beast and heavy as fuck.. they're kicks usually sound like shit but you will get some brutal snares and crashes
i'm not too big on sampling tunes for drum hits tho (unless it's UK garage
.. )
i know where i'd go for rock/metal drums ---
i forget where i got 'em, but i have the complete original MPC sample discs.. MPC2k and 3k have some riDICulously clean/solid real drum sounds.. pure gold.. just compress and *perhaps* add a lil verb, and you will be golden..

Re: Metal/Rock Drums
Most modern rock drums are just one shot samples layered over the original beat or triggered by the drummer, so it's just a matter of getting the right samples and put them SLIIIGHTLY off the grid (seeing as even rock drums are often quantized these days).
Just a kick on the 1 and the snare on the 3 with a crash on every note and you should have a pretty 'rock' feel.
