Putting on your own night?

Went to a rave in an art studio the other week and the DJ (who was at least 55, no joke) was dropping D&B and dubstep tunes, was fucking class.
I've been interested in trying to start a night with a couple of mates that are really into the music and was wondering has anyone got any tips?

P.S. We aren't just a bunch of wasters, one mate hosts a local radio show (Dubstep, IDM, electronic, etc) and the other works in the best club in town. I know a couple of local club DJs and a friend of a friend is David Holmes aka DJ Homer, who ran a legendary night here a few years back. So we're really determined to do this.

Oh my God its him!!

Rip rip is a legendary piece of work, i demand that you throw your arms around him and hug next time you see him. Without explanation.

Then call him a bastard for never releasing rip rip (apart from the hexstatic mix)

I've never actually met him, but guy that lives up the street from me hung around with him when he was a DJ too. I could probably get in touch with him for his help if I had something concrete to work with.

I'm from Belfast. Only two decent clubs here and not much D&B and dubstep at that. Only heard dubstep being played once and two pure D&B nights.
